WHO WE ARE

IT'S OK TO NOT BE OK

At The Sanctuary, we believe in a God who loves us as we are and not as we should be. We are a "shame free" church exploring God's lavish grace. If you need hope, healing, or freedom, this is the place for you.

We live in a world that loves to put labels on people. At the Sanctuary Church we want to help you experience God's love in a tangible way. To help you realize the label and truth He wants you to live under is simply, "Loved".

We all have stuff to work through in our lives. We all struggle with hurts, habits, and hang-ups that keep us
from being what God has created us to be. But that's why we all need a Savior. Christ loves us
as we are and loves us enough to not keep us there.

If you are looking for hope, healing, or freedom in your life, you've come to the right place.

You've come to a safe place... a Sanctuary.

We begin every service with a promise,

that if you're a saint, a sinner, a loser, a winner, abused, an abuser, a whore, a gambler, lost, fearful, ADHD, a liar,

a hypocrite, a bastard, a lover, a cutter, a tweaker, whether you're an alcoholic, adopted or abandoned, you're leftover, divorced, LGBT, alone, old, young, driven, a cheater, a success, infected, rejected, pierced or tatted, or just a misfit,

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE.

Because God loves you as you are, not as you should be.

NICENE CREED

The Nicene Creed (Symbolum Nicaenum) is a profession of faith widely used in Christian liturgy.

It is called Nicene because it was originally adopted in the city of Nicaea by the First Council of Nicaea in AD 325. In 381 AD, it was amended at the First Council of Constantinople, and the amended form is referred to as the Nicene or the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed.

The First Council of Nicaea was a council of Christian bishops convened in Nicaea in Bithynia by the Roman Emperor Constantine I (aka Constantine the Great). This initial ecumenical council’s primary goal was to attain consensus in the church regarding the foundational truths of our faith through

an assembly representing all of Christendom.

At The Sanctuary Church we believe in it's simplicity and depth.

We believe in its historical significance and its relevance to the Church today.

We believe it provides more to unify us in our Christian faith than divide us.

We believe...

I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried,

and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the dead

and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead

and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
