Associate Pastor (Operations)

Position Overview
The Community Life Pastor is a catalytic leader at The Sanctuary Church (TSC), responsible for supporting church operations, overseeing ministry support structures, and cultivating a vibrant, Spirit-led community. This role is designed for a passionate follower of Jesus who is grounded in prayer, burns for revival, and is eager to see the next move of God take root in Colorado Springs. Equal parts shepherd, strategist, and doer, they’ll oversee key aspects of church life—from ministry oversight to facility coordination to implementing vision alongside the Lead Pastor.
This role is for someone who carries a bias toward action, is energized by turning ideas into implementation, and can pivot between spiritual leadership and operational excellence. As a generalist, they’ll wear multiple hats, thrive in ambiguity, and love building systems that empower people. As a project manager, they’ll move initiatives forward, keep teams aligned, and steward the execution of what God is doing at TSC.
Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership & Vision Implementation

Prayer-Centered Leadership: Cultivate a life marked by prayer and the pursuit of God's presence. Model intimacy with Jesus and dependence on the Holy Spirit in both personal and corporate settings.

Vision Execution: Partner with the Lead Pastor to implement prophetic direction, ensuring ministries are aligned with TSC’s unique call to serve the marginalized and awaken the church.

Culture Building: Champion a culture of service, compassion, and expectancy—where every team, system, and ministry flows from love for Jesus and people.
2. Operations & Facility Oversight

Facility Management: Oversee all aspects of facility use, care, and scheduling. Ensure that the church campus is safe, welcoming, and functioning.

Action-Oriented Problem Solving: Jump in quickly to identify needs and resolve issues—whether it’s coordinating a last-minute facility fix or realigning a team’s execution plan.

Volunteer Empowerment: Identify, recruit, and develop volunteers to serve in operational and facility roles, fostering ownership and joy in service.
3. Ministry Development & Oversight

Team Leadership: Support and develop ministry leaders, ensuring each area is healthy, mission-aligned, and effective in disciple-making.

Generalist Strength: Be ready to step into a variety of roles—pastoral support, team development, logistics, prayer leadership—depending on the needs of the season.

Accountability & Alignment: Keep ministry leaders accountable to goals, values, and outcomes, helping them flourish while staying aligned with TSC’s broader vision, while helping remove roadblocks.
4. Project Management & Service Support

Strategic Execution: Move projects and ministry plans from idea to implementation. Keep people and timelines aligned to ensure momentum is maintained.

Sunday Services: Help lead the flow, rhythm, and direction of Sunday gatherings. Partner with worship, tech, and prayer teams to create Spirit-sensitive experiences.

Follow-Through: Own details and ensure nothing falls through the cracks—from room setup to follow-up conversations to cross-ministry collaboration.

Qualifications

3+ years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience.

Strong administrative and organizational skills.

Proven ability to lead teams and implement strategy.

A deep personal prayer life and demonstrated spiritual maturity.
