Encore

Our first gathering will be Sunday, February 15th, and we’ll be heading to Paninos Downtown on Tejon for lunch after church.

Encore is a new community group for adults 50 and up at THE Sanctuary Church, launching on the first Sunday in February. Encore is designed to be a welcoming space where people in this season of life can build meaningful friendships, enjoy life together, and remain actively engaged in the life of the church.The heart of Encore is threefold: to fellowship, to support one another, and to serve. Fellowship will be built through shared meals, conversations, and social gatherings—beginning with a monthly lunch after church. Support will grow naturally as relationships deepen, creating space for encouragement, prayer, and walking through life together. Service will focus on offering the wisdom, availability, and experience of this group to bless the church through volunteer efforts, hospitality, mentoring, and special projects as opportunities arise.

Encore will be led by Christine Marks, Lori Vafiades, and Ward Ripley, who will help guide the rhythm of gatherings, coordinate activities, and connect the group with service opportunities within the church. The goal is a low-pressure, life-giving community that values connection, laughter, purpose, and continued contribution to the church family.
